The band
Desiderat is a Berlin-based instrumental progressive metal band. It was initially founded in 2018 by both guitarists and released their first single "Desiderat" with three songs in November 2021 and a second in February 2023. In November 2024, Desiderat released their first full-length album called "Ipsoma".
The influences of their members’ different cultural and musical backgrounds are manifested in the songs, making them diverse and suspenseful. Each song tells another personal story resulting in a unique structural and emotional development for the song.

Band history
This band had it's fair share for trouble with joining musicians for the band. After finding a drummer in the beginning of 2019, it took 16 months to find a bass player. But shortly after, by the end of 2020, we lost our drummer.
Only in May 2022 the band was finally together to start working towards the first gig which finally happened in February 2023. During that time now our bass player had to leave us, which lead to our new bass player Daniel joining us in April 2023.

Music production
Desiderat is writing and recording their songs all by themselves. Also they publish the final tracks on our own. For the album they got professional help for mixing and mastering.
